my colorful kids

I know, I know. Pictures of the kids are a lot more fun, but I'm proud of their creativity so I want to document it. Kayleigh and Zoe have a "Go Club" and they asked us all if we would join. Of course we couldn't say no! "There are no meetings and it doesn't cost a thing."
"Zoe was the first to join. Now we have hundreds of people in our club." I asked Kayleigh what they did in her club and from what I gather it's pretty much everything from helping families in need to coloring pictures of My Little Pony.
We had a bit of the stomach flu going around our house for about a week so we were comming up with lots of things to do. These signs seemed to be a hit.

Kayleigh does have a love of animlas and Zoe loves her sweets. I wonder what they will really be when they grow-up?
Zoe does love to eat, but at all the wrong times. I guess she likes to graze... Anyways... Tonight, when I went to do my last check on the girls before I go to bed, I kind of woke Zoe. In her sleep she put out her hand and said, "I won't eat it!" Geesh! I thought I was eating dinner with her all over again.
I just love those little girls so much!!!

Sickness, Sickness go away

Wish these scary monsters would scare sickness away. Zoe and I have been sick for a few days. I cannot wait until we feel better! The weather here is cooling off and there are so many parks and pathways that we need to discover. We also need to encourage Miss K to ride her bike without training wheels.

For Zoe

Today was Zoe's first day of her Park and Rec class: 2-3 yr old story and craft time. The books were about cats and so the craft was to make a cat. As you can see she is pretty proud of it.

She only interrupted the teacher once, sat still until a kid threw a shoe at her. What did she do next? She threw it right back at her and gave her a mean look of course :/ And the best part, she didn't whine or ask for food for 45 mintues! I wish we could go everyday :)

Seriously though, Zoe is so strong willed and relentless. She doesn't let things go and there is no talking her down, even if you say yes she'll then say no. Crazy kid. She'll be 3 in 3 months. Hopefully she'll move from terrible two's to terrific three's?!?!

take your time with a craft

This little craft project was unexpectedly fun. I was teaching Kayleigh how many different mediums she could use doing crafts. We used crayon, pencil, pom poms, markers, paint, stickers, water, scissors, and food. It was awesome because we worked on this for more than a day.... we worked on them all week. Well, Kayleigh did anyways ;o)

Valentine's Day Tea Party for Four Cute Girls

I had fun preparing for a little Valentine's day party for the girls and two of their friends who are also sisters.
I was so happy with the result- a cute, simple, inexspensive V-day tea party for four. We made the decorations, used plates and cups we already had. I picked up doilies 2 for a dollar and the sucker bouquets (Tinkerbell) I found on a 90% off clearence sale at Walgreens. We served pb&j, blueberries, and heart shaped brownies courtesy of our friends. I also made up some tea sandwiches for Becky and I.
My favorite, super easy tea sandwich was red pepper jelly and goat cheese. Yum. I love goat cheese. If I could only find a way to eat in in sushi I'd have the perfect meal. :)Here is proof that my house and girls can actually be clean at the same time ;0) It's hard to see but I made the mobile... I cut out about 35 hearts used spray adheasive to adhere them to ribon and attached to a dowel. It was pretty cute and just cost a few dollars. Here are the girls enjoying their time together. One last group hug before saying goodbye.

Rice Krispie Kisses

Today we made Rice Krispie Kisses. The trick here is to line the funnel with wax paper so you can wrap the "kiss" in wax paper inside the foil (so it doesn't stick to the foil). Also, spray a spatula with cooking spray before you pack the mix in the funnel.

Sick Day

I knew Kayleigh would wake up sick this morning, so I was prepared for special treats, movies and crafts.
The girls take after their Mom with their love of chocolate and nutella. Zoe was overJOYed to have a spoonfull after her Milk Chocolate Instant Breakfast :)
The girls watched Kung Fu Panda at least twice today and ate popcorn both of wich happened in our bedroom. Definitely a special treat!
For the craft of the day we dipped marbles in paint and rolled them around in cake pans.
As you can see Kayleigh is not feeling too hot...

Valentine Plate Pockets

This morning the girls made "valentine plate pockets." I still have to punch holes in them and add string to hang... I thought they turned out pretty cute! (although probably cuter if I had the correct paper plates.) Zoe's is first, Kayleigh's is second.
